Founder case study · AI Learning Ecosystem · 2022 to 2024
If it isn’t a loop
of habit, it isn’t
your identity.
Licaverse is an all-in-one gamified, AI learning ecosystem built on a behavioral Hook Cycle. The whole idea: make everyday studying a habit strong enough that it quietly becomes part of who a learner is.

01 / Context & overview
The whole thing,
from up high.
A SaaS learning platform for students and institutions, built to grow into a full ecosystem of software, devices, and IoT, where learning quietly compounds into a lasting identity.
Product thesis, UX research, interaction design, the visual system, validation, and running the venture. Hats, plural.
Led design next to two-plus developers and a development exec, from a napkin idea to a working prototype.
Roughly two years of research, design, validation, and a lot of building.
Every interaction should nudge a learner’s daily discipline toward long-term upside.
02 / Problem space
Attention is collapsing, and the stakes are real.
In 2023, over 13,000 students in India lost their lives to suicide, and the average human focus span dropped below that of a goldfish, to roughly 4.25 seconds. Learning had become stressful, scattered, and painfully easy to quit.
Traditional platforms optimize course completion. Productivity tools optimize isolated tasks. None of them treat learning as something enjoyable and habit-forming that lowers stress instead of piling more on.
“What if learning were a game of time, effort, and eco-coins, quietly turning everyday discipline into long-term upside?”
Source: student suicide figures, National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), reported December 2023.
03 / Behavioral thesis
Why do people
marry, love, like?
The thesis came from a genuinely human question: what makes something become part of someone’s life? The research kept pointing at stacked, repeated value, not one clever feature.
Why people marry you
A complete, safe feeling. Empathy, emotional stability, real care. One single need is never enough to earn a spot in someone’s identity.
Why people love you
One interesting and one perfect use case makes people love a product, the way Zoom nailed exactly one job: painless online meetings.
Why people like you
Being likeable is a nice start, but it fades. Only stacked, repeated usefulness turns a polite like into a real relationship.
Stacked use cases
Multiple stacked use cases raise the odds 10X that a product becomes part of your identity, not just another icon in your toolkit.
The Hook Cycle
Behavioral psychology, applied: pair high utility with frequent use, and engagement quietly turns into habit.
Utility × frequency
Plot every feature on utility against frequency. The loop lives where both run high, and that’s where habits are born.
04 / The product crux
A learning loop,
borrowed from Spotify.
If Spotify tracks a listening loop, Licaverse tracks a learning one. It understands what, where, and how a learner grows, then hands it back as progress you can actually see.
The subject or topic
Pins down exactly what a learner is working on, mapped to a tidy subject code (say, MAT · 02 · 005).
The learning context
Classroom, online platform, or self-study. The place learning actually happens.
Frequency & pattern
Reads frequency, patterns, and progress over time to power streaks, levels, and smart nudges.
05 / Product modules
The 21st way
of learning.
Licaverse chops core dashboards and progress views into three tidy modules (M1, M2, M3) that make an academic journey tangible, trackable, and honestly kind of fun.
Lica’s Dynamic CV
A living professional identity that updates as learners take notes, finish work, and show skills. The unique bit, and my favorite.
Weekly Learning
Learnings tracked Sunday to Saturday, with progress bars and the exact minutes left to the next level.
In-note assist · Lica
An AI helper living in every note: “explain this as a story”, “teach me like I’m five”, or just “ask anything”.
Smart Notebooks
Every note carries a title, subject code, thumbnail, and last-edited time. Findable and connected, never lost in the void.
Collaborative Sessions
Real-time focus rooms with members, timers, and shared goals. “You’ve completed 150 minutes of learning today.”
Progress Modules M1 to M3
Task, class, and journey views in light and dark, turning study sessions into a legible, future-ready record.

06 / Dynamic CV
Skills that update as you learn.
A résumé shouldn’t be a snapshot you update in a panic before interviews. Licaverse turns verified learning behaviour into a living profile, wired to real academic evidence.

07 / The next curve
Designing for the curve after this one.
Apple rode the personal-computer curve from 1976 into the game-changing Apple II and Lisa by 1982. In 2016, OpenAI’s early models hinted at the next big one: generative intelligence. Licaverse was designed to sit right on that curve and ask, “what if you could learn with an AI assistant?”
“The best way to predict the future is to create it.” Peter Drucker
It starts as SaaS for students and institutions, then grows into a full ecosystem of software, devices, and IoT. A long-term AI learning companion.
08 / Validation & leverage
$400K+ of value,
before a full launch.
Validation showed up as venture interest, non-dilutive credits, competition wins, and protected IP. Receipts below.
09 / The grand vision
Carry your brain
in your hands.
By 2030, we’ll run our devices in new ways, more and more by voice and command. Licaverse imagines an AI learning ecosystem that holds your knowledge and, through IoT, lets you literally carry your second brain around with you. Big swing, on purpose.
10 / Retrospective
The hard lesson: protect your health.
“We have very little time in our hands. You probably don’t want to hear this at a product conclusion, but take very good care of yourself.”
Running flat out for two to three years landed real wins, up to a ₹50L soft loan, grants, and more. It also cost me my health, and I had to pause the venture. What Licaverse gave me was sharper judgment: test the scariest assumption early, treat founder energy as infrastructure, and never lose sight of the learner’s actual goal.
